Sericulture is a traditional cottage industry rooted in the life and culture of Assam. Indigenous to Assam, the thermal properties of the Eri and the sheen of the Muga place these silks on the same pedestal as Kashmir's Pashmina.

This tour will acquaint you with Assam's textile heritage as you visit small weaving villages along the Brahmaputra river that are entirely sustained by this cottage industry. After interacting with the weavers, it will soon become evident that the sociocultural life of these communities are significantly expressed in their textiles and patterns.

Guests will also have the opportunity to go on elephant and jeep safaris at Kaziranga National park and learn more about the neo-Vaishnavite culture of Majuli.
