  • Sip on a gin & tonic on the sundeck of ABN Charaidew I and enjoy a spectacular sunset on the Brahmaputra river

Stay aboard the heritage passenger vessel, ABN Charaidew I, on the Brahmaputra river, one of Asia's mightiest rivers and the lifeline of Assam. Experience the best of riverine living from your twin-bedded cabin with en suite, decked out in Assamese looms and cane furniture.

Discover life on this river as you visit Majuli, the world's largest river island and the tiny Mishing hamlet within it. Immerse yourself in Assamese culture, and visit satras or monasteries of the neo-Vaishavite sect; taste local cuisine at a humble joint; and learn about the way of life of the Mishing tribal folk.

Then, head to Sibsagar, a small town in upper Assam which carries the heritage of the Ahom dynasty of Thai origin, who ruled the Brahmaputra valley from 1228 till 1826 (around 600 years). Visit the architectural ruins they left behind, as well as important places of worship for Assamese locals like the Shiva Dol, Vishnu Dol and Devi Dol shrines.
